We just returned home from the United For Truth manifestation in Brussels. We had a great time, met some very nice people and, like it was said at the end of the march, are once again amazed about the power of the internet. Hope to see you (and lots more ofcourse) soon!

Het was een gezellige vreedzame betoging in Brussel vandaag op 9 sept 07
De opkomst was OK, en de mensen waren goed in staat om hun mening te uiten. Hoewel het op een zondag middag in een dode stad als Brussel een betoging is waar het aantal demonstranten onderhand het merendeel van de binnenstad menigte vertegenwoordigde.... was het idee om uiting te geven aan de 9/11 doofpot die we niet dulden feitelijk het beste dat we konden doen en verzinnen vandaag.
De politie was heel positief, en de begeleiding die we van ze kregen maakte de wandeltocht veilig voor alle deelnemers. (oprecht bedankt heren!)
Ik heb de indruk dat de staatsveiligheid meer foto's maakte dan de pers (ha,ha). Ach, zolang ze maar weten dat wij niet tegenover hun staan, maar dat ze feitelijk zelf ook beter konden meelopen in plaats zich voor het karretje te laten spannen van de duistere krachten verstopt achter de vele overheids gebouwen.Waarom al die foto's nodig waren is wel vreemd als je ziet dat er niet een in de krant is verschenen. Grappig eigenlijk hoe dat werkt.

Ik vond de opkomst heel teleurstellend..had duizenden mensen verwacht.
Spijtig dat niet meer mensen de moeite gedaan hebben om te komen want ze zijn er zeker.

Salut toutes et toutes,

Voici un premier bref bilan et analyse de la manifestation du 9/9 à Bruxelles.
Il ne s'agit que d'un avis personnel destiné à un débat constructif et productif, aucune vérité ultime, juste une opinion.
Je vous proposerai prochainement une analyse plus détaillée se basant sur les trois derniers évènements co-organisés.
Avant tout je tiens à remercier Julez, pour tout son travail, son énergie et pour être lui-même.
Ce qui m'a décidé à soutenir son initiative -et je ne suis certainement pas le seul dans le cas- c'est son discours précisément. Original, hors des sentiers de bois et des langues battues…
Travailler, militer, s'activer avec lui est un réel plaisir.
Ensuite remercier aussi toutes celles et ceux qui se son joint à nous ce dimanche, particulièrement ceux qui se sont déplacé, parfois de très loin, pour participer à ce premier pas vital, urgent et nécessaire de notre "longue marche"…Sans oublier celles et ceux qui nous ont soutenus à distance.

Concrètement: 200 personnes et de jolis échos dans les médias.
Une marche dans la bonne humeur, en musique et sans incident avec le généreux soutient de la météo, comme annoncé.
Mais le plus important reste à faire, car si une marche se limite à une action exutoire et sans suites elle est vaine. Grâce aux échos médiatiques elle a déjà modestement atteint un objectif non négligeable.

Gardons le meilleurs pour la fin et commençons par les points négatifs et quelques commentaires, proposition pour remédier à ces problèmes.

The Dark Side of the Farce:
"Seulement" 200 personnes !
Certains s'étonneront car ils s'en satisfont.
Ils n'ont pas tout à fait tort, en effet je dois avouer que j'ai parfois crains un nombre moindre.
Etant militant "old'skool" je restais septique concernant la mobilisation principalement virtuelle avec (trop) peu de visibilité réelle. Mais ne voulant pas la jouer celui qui sait mieux, j'ai laissé venir curieux. Sans oublier de faire quelques mission tracts et affiches "old'skool";)
Nous savons tous pertinemment qu'il est possible -malgré la résignation et/ou la collaboration ambiantes- de mobiliser bien plus de personnes sur ces thèmes.
La simple projection du film "911 Mysteries-1" au Nova déplaça au moins autant de personnes.

The Sympatique Side of the Farce:
Nous étions deux cent, nous avons pu traverser Bruxelles gaiement et de manière visible.
Le rapport manifestant/échos dans les médias et qualité (correctes, voir favorables) de ceux-ci est réjouissant! Quand je pense comment ils ont ignoré ou presque les 6000 personnes présentes à l'événement de solidarité avec la Palestine 2 mois plutôt, le syndrome "Calimero" n'est pas loin…
Nous avons posé le premier pas sur la planète du monde réel et ensemble s'il vous plait!
Et nous nous y sommes rencontré.

Quelles étaient nos handicaps et propositions pour y remédier:
a) Le temps :
-Imaginée et organisée en moins de trois mois
-En période de vacances mais de peu de disponibilité des militants (?), des organisations, groupes, ONG potentiellement alliées.
-Manque de temps pour entrer en contact avec ces organisations,
pour organiser la promo hors Internet,
pour mieux préparer la marche. (banderoles, slogans, happening(?), etc.)

b) La structure & la campagne de mobilisation
-Pas de réelle organisation mais c'est bien le propre d'une initiative citoyenne.
-Pas de soutien ou participation des grandes organisations potentiellement alliées et aptes à mobiliser des milliers de personnes.
-Pas assez de militants réellement impliqués et actifs sur le terrain, pas sur le net!
Beaucoup oublient vite que la grande majorité est loin de la toile ou ne s'en sert que très occasionnellement et pas pour s'informer.
-Pas de fonds propres afin de financer une vraie campagne de mobilisation.

L'hostilité des médias de masse et les menaces des fascistes comptent pour du beurre car prévisibles: quand on s'attaque au système il est logique que ses chiens de garde jouent leurs rôles. Paradoxalement c'est même la confirmation que vous êtes pris au sérieux.

Propositions pour remédier à quelques problèmes rencontrés:
a) le temps:
Commencer minimum six mois à 'avance. Et commencer par rencontrer les alliés potentiels avant d'établir la plate-forme de mobilisation définitive.
!! Ne pas y aller les mains vides: proposer des points non modifiables et y incorporer des éléments connexes.
Permet de mieux penser, concevoir et organiser la campagne de promo.
Affiches- tracts- communiqués -mailing, etc.…

b) La structure & la campagne de mobilisation:
Il est important de ne pas perdre l'aspect spontané, original, hors-norme de cette initiative qui est devenue commune.
Il est pourtant nécessaire de structurer si nous voulons dépasser le cadre des convaincus, cela ne doit pas empêcher un fonctionnement démocratique. Partisan de la démocratie directe. Des mandataires provisoires, révocables à tout moment, choisi pour leurs qualités et aptitudes à remplir les tâches confiées. Car il faut déléguer pour pouvoir organiser un tel évènements.
Et surtout: que toutes et tous s'y mettent vraiment, participent activement: PAS derrière leur écran! C'est sur le terrain que nous gagnerons, pas sur la toile où nous sommes déjà très (trop;) présents.
Il nous faut absolument gagner l'appui de structures existantes, nous ne nous ferons pas phagocyter, au contraire beaucoup de ces organismes ont dans leur "raison sociale/statut" l'appui à de telles initiatives. (assoces article?, asbl, ONG, syndicats, etc.)
Cela peut aussi être un début de solution pour nos fonds propres.
Concernant l'argent: des évènements préparatoires peuvent être organisés afin de collecter des fonds (projections, fêtes, concerts, etc)

Hoewel de opkomst hoger had mogen zijn kunnen we niet klagen gezien de ongemeen korte aanlooptijd. Bravo aan de organisatie! Hoewel we in slechts enkel kranten worden vermeld heeft de media ons toch niet helemaal links laten liggen.

Het was een fijne demonstratie en de opkomst viel heel erg mee!!!
Bravo voor de organisator!
Ik ben trots dat we dit gedaan hebben met elkaar en ben een voorstander van een kleine aktie elke 11 de van de maand te doen voortaan in je stad of dorp.
We zijn vandaag nog dollars en folders gaan uitdelen in Luik FUN
